Biography
ALAP is an independent, international awarding organisation born from decades of experience of developing teacher training and English language provision.
We are a specialist awarding body dedicated to supporting training providers who offer their learners practical, up-to-date, and relevant courses in the ability to use the English language in real, work-based situations.
ALAP accredits courses and issues certificates and diplomas in English language covering a variety of skill sets. Employers can feel secure in the knowledge that holders of an ALAP Award have reached a specified level of achievement that guarantees they will be able to communicate effectively in English for a particular purpose, and to the level required. With the valued support of our esteemed Academic Panel, we are proud that ALAP English Certification is recognised by employers worldwide as being synonymous with comprehensively trained and effective employees.
In terms of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) ALAP offers a suite of online English Language Competency examinations. The suite is composed of four distinct tests: a placement test for assessing a learner’s current level of English, and three levels of competency which test reading and listening skills to levels and abilities commensurate with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). Because the tests are taken entirely online and under strict examination conditions, flexibility of delivery is guaranteed, while the turnaround time for results is usually completed in 48 hours, and frequently within 24.
ALAP also accredits Certificates and Diplomas in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages against a rigorous set of Accreditation Standards.
ALAP currently represents organisations all over the world and particularly in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
